Both of these artist are highly referenced in the image and process of the work I am making for the semester project. Though their works are easy to differentiate I see common ground in their ability to understand the conceptual qualities behind layering and how abiding by certain rules these layers create balance in a highly intensive subject matter and composition. Working from the initial layer or single subject matter and working out words either two dimensional or three dimensional can be seen in both artist works. As stated in previous post my works intention is to remain focused with the layer and how it creates unity in composition; with Bamps works, I will abstract the originality and freedom with multiple subject matter, while with the works of Fosik I will reference the keen and mathematical approach to sustaining balance within a controlled composition. My goal is to composite both processes of layering into my individual works but not to take these works literally into my own. I look forward to improving my work with the things both artist works have to offer as well as many others i admire into creating a structured level of balance with the injections of non-structured elements and to obtain balance with in a controlled space by the laws of layers and how they perform in the roles they take.
