so I guess I am on my third and final painting for this semester project and so far I am satisfied with the results of my time. On the second painting, my primary concern was to work on a smaller and more intimate surface area because I felt that the first piece was too big to be fully accomplished in the time frame given. On both previous paintings I would like to go back to, to further develop the patterns, layers, subject matter etc. The main objective in making this project was to display a single moment in time and space using iconic and non-iconic images together that wouldn't normally be structured next to one another and to balance the unexpected entropic equation with color, shape, tone, pattern, and scale etc. Im glad on decided to use a smaller canvas for the second presentation and it also helped me to establish many focal points from the beginning rather than working to make all ends meet at one place. On this third painting I am using a trashed original my McCormick, which I found on the street, making the challenges much different than the other two. The image is a city scape and so far I've gone over most of the building with single flat bright colors to latter pattern and detail. I don't really know if I am going to be using animals in this, instead I think I will try to accomplish a heavy heavy amount of pattern work. The shapes of the buildings, to me, already fill the iconic void and if I add any more it might just be over kill. For the presentation of this piece I hope to achieve a balanced and entertaining city scape structure of patterns giving the audience a single moment in time and further more displaying what the world could be in a different setting.

Influential Artist to my Ideals

The artist i chose to discusses include a personal friend Alert, and his other associates i don't know Twist One(Barry McGee) and the late Margaret Cache-Control: max-age=0

D"blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Kilgallen
. I met Alert when i was residing in Denver he became a acquainted with Twist at an art show when he was living in Boston. Soon after, Alert moved in with him during the year of 96' or 97' Both at the time, and still are extremely influential contributors to graffiti and street art. They started a crew with 3 other writers under the name of 5av (five angry vegans). I don't know if they still connect with each other but I do know that Kilgallen also plays a huge roll in the scene and really enjoy all of her work. I respect all street art because it is not easy to do and the legal risk alone can be a huge sign of devotion. I know that Barry and Margaret were later dubbed as the founding members of the mission school but i also realize that everyone bites everyone and just because they were recognized for it doesn't mean other people weren't doing the same things elsewhere. I'm not knocking their work in any way just stating that their not the only ones and its sad that most of the public only considers whats in the books you can buy at the Moma bookstore, Art. There is plenty of street art in this city, more than most places, and even though i admire the contemporary works of these three artist I still look to the street as the ultimate reference when making my art. Which i can assume is the same for what these three artist did or do when looking for inspiration. For those who don't know Kilgallen past from cancer. The progression these few contributed cannot be denied and their are more than enough people today jocking their shit, so you best do your homework and recognize next time you see something at an art gallery assuming its the greatest most original thing ever... Ed Templeton shouldn't be left out either cause he soo hot right now too. Art belongs on the streets not in some aristocrats hallway or over his dining room table.<br>
