The moves made of most risky or boldness were probably most likely involved with the initial decision making at the beginning of the third assignment when I chose a new direction from the previous assignments a began to focus on a different concept primarily focused around painting over other peoples work. At the same time it wasn’t hard to be decisive when painting over another’s work because the composition was already present and i did was essentially modify their original. I chose oil based paints for this work because it was most similar to the original work and gave the audience a cheep attempt at personalizing the work for myself. Any other medium would have been too much for me and most likely for you. If I had used a different method I think it would be less convincing and in a bad way dangerously cheesy. I wanted to display a new and present way of graffiti and how the concepts of personal appeal and how all layers are in context with graffiti regardless of the surface or what people think is safe. Most of the public assumes that fine art is safe from these possessive actions but I wanted to prove that its not with these works as well as completing my task in a successful way to where at least some people could think it was now better than what it was before I got a hold of it. Everything I did in these works is personal from the pattern work, subject matter, and rearranged compositions. This triptych is now personalized to the way I want because it now belongs to me for the time being. Artist I am influenced by for this project range from Cody Hudson, Mya Hayuk, and Mario Zoots. I let my temporary emotions get the best of this work due to the end of the semester and all the stress related I kind of just wanted to have fun and create a dark work with in a happy setting. This project remains relevant to the overall concept of focus this semester revolving around layers and the prosperities of graffiti and how the different methods of graffiti and defacing can create a language of harmony on construct composition using pattern and content inside and outside of the street environment as well as the art world of academia.
