With my drawings and paintings I decided to use multiple mediums to accomplish each image as well as different surfaces applied, to experiment with new concepts. In the drawings I enjoyed creating layers as if I were painting, and once each layer was balanced I would add another on top to create a new level of imbalance that I would I have to restore to stability. The highest unsuccessful points in these works was my inability to separate from cliché symbols in street art, I want to engage with them but not become dependent and for some of these works the it’s obvious that I am a slave to my own trade.
I wish to create work for the semester to show unity with in a community of individuals, such as a covered door in a back ally. I am going to be attempting to create work with the illusion of having been made by more than one hand. I will be aiming to use multiple mediums within each work to accomplish this goal as well as using each medium to its full advantage in creating coherency amongst the chaos that’s presented. I don’t want to created symmetrical compositions I want to be free and spontaneous with this semester’s project.
